Here is another interesting event to blog about.  Well, as we all know May is just a few sleep to go and when we talked about May few things comes to our mind.  That goes with the famous Flores de Mayo or Flowers of May which has always been an iconic Filipino Tradition.  In most provincial areas or should I say nearly the entire Philippines celebrate this kind of festivity which happens happens yearly.

Since I did not grew up in the province I taught there's nothing like it here in the Metro but  like I mentioned it seems that this is celebrated nearly all over the Philippines and there were some celebrations here in the Metro. 


To welcome the month of May, a grand Fashionable parade of sagalas will be held in May 5, Sunday at 4:30pm at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia. This event will feature 30 ladies dressed in the finest and exquisite gowns created by the top designers of the country. This year's theme is "Colors of Mindanao" which will feature designers' fashion interpretations that evoke the exotic lands down south of the Philippines.

During the press conference they presented some of the creations of Ben Farrales which was modeled by Apples Aberin, Unilever's vey own head of PR and recognized figure in the fashion industry.


Competiting for the top title of Rosa Mystica or Mystical Rose will be creations from the country's top designers including Ivan Dela Cruz, Buddy Reyes, Obet Orajay, Fanny Serrano, Edgar Allan, Pepe Quitco, Jon Fernando, Danilo Franco, Arielle Agasan, Edwin Tan, Johnny Abad, Renee Salud, Ole Morabe, Edwin Uy, Steve de Leon, Christopher Quijano, Richard Papa, Rholand Roxas, Frederick Peralta, Edgar Madamaba, Leslie Rivera, Rey Lazaro, Pencil Diestra, Rikko Escaro, Pepsi Herrera, Edgar San Diego, Jotie Martinez, Francis Calaquian, Gener Gozum and Lito Perez who most of them were present during the press conference.

Flores de Mayo 2013 "Colors of Mindanao" is a production of the Congregacion del Santisimo Nombre del Nino Jesus, the City of Pasay, Creamsilk and SM Mall of Asia together with Unilever Philippines. The grand parade will happen on May 5 and will be hosted by Boots Anson-Roa.
