Who will emerge as “The Voice Kids” Grand Champion?
Out of the many kids who audition, now it's down to four finalist namely Darlene Vibares for #TeamLea, Juan Karlos "JK" Labajo for #TeamKawayan, and Darren Espanto and Lyca Gairanod for #TeamSarah. Aside from the battle of the four finalist the competition also extends to the three coaches, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, and Lea Salonga as they groom each of their bets to win and hailed as the first grand champion of The Voice Kids.
The first part of the finale was aired last night, Saturday, July 26 and the second part which is the much-awaited announcement of "The Voice Kids" grand champion wherein the grand champion will take home P1 million, a one-year recording contract from MCA Universal, house and lot, a home appliance showcase, a musical instrument showcase, and a P1 million worth of trust fund.
Aside from the grand finale and announcement of the winner tonight, the show will also feature performances from Martin Nievera, Lani Misalucha, Aiza Seguerra, Aegis, and TFC's 20th anniversary Ambassador and “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano.

KidZania Manila Introduces the Educational Entertainment Concept to Filipino Academe

KidZania Manila formally introduced its unique educational entertainment concept to teachers, educators and other members of the Philippine academe during the KidZania Educators’ Pod held at The City Club in Alphaland Makati recently. More than 90 child education experts from over 30 schools and learning institutions across the metro learned about the innovative indoor play city, which aims to help students reach their full potential through interactive role-play.
“We look forward to supporting and complementing our teachers’ efforts to help Filipino children and their parents discover the amazing power of role-play as well as the fun ways children can explore and discover theirgifts,” said Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas, President and CEO of Play Innovations Inc. and Governor of the State, Philippines.
Pangilinan-Arenas added that at KidZania Manila, children can learn to work with others, practice being good citizens, and work together to build a real sense of community. “We aim to create one of the most memorable and enriching KidZania experiences in the world, cognizant of both the universal and unique needs of children ina developing nation such as ours,” she said.
The global leader in children’s educational entertainment, KidZania Manila recognizes the power of role-playing and activates this concept to empower kids so they can learn through personal experience and, ignite their imagination, as they learn by doing. Set to open at the Bonifacio Global City in early 2015, the indoor play city features over 100 role-playing activities in different establishments supported by real-world brands. Depending on their interests, children can choose from a wide range of jobs – be a Cebu Pacific pilot or cabin crew, ABS-CBN news anchor or correspondent, or a McDonald’s burger chef apprentice.
At KidZania Manila, kids will have hands-on experience through role-play of different careers, discover how a city works, and learn economic fundamentals - the concept of earning and managing money. During the event, the KidZania Manila team also unveiled KidZania Go!, the mobile extension of the kid-sized city which will give a foretaste of in-park activities. The traveling educational entertainment platform will tour different schools in Manila from August until October 2014, allowing children to get a glimpse of the KidZania Manila experience before the play city opens in early 2015.
KidZania Manila and KidZania Go! have been developed under the supervision of child educators and psychologists, promoting values, self-discovery and life skills development in a fun and entertaining way. “The KidZania experience complements what kids learn in school and makes the concept of authentic assessment come to life. Duplicity: Jake Gyllenhaal on Creating the Characters Adam and Anthonyin ENEMY

What would you do if you discover someone who looks exactly like you?
The reality of finding your doppelganger or a mirror image or yourself is the intriguing premise of the upcoming psychosexual thriller ENEMY, released by Solar Pictures.
Based on the novel “The Double” by José Saramago, ENEMY tells the story of a university lecturer named Adam (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is nearing the end of a relationship with his girlfriend Mary (Melanie Laurent). One night, while watching a film, Adam spots a minor actor who looks just like him. Consumed by the desire to meet his double, Adam tracks down Anthony (Jake Gyllenhaal), an actor living with his pregnant wife Helen (Sarah Gadon) and engages him in a complex and dangerous struggle.
“In terms of finding a lead actor for these dual parts, I was looking for someone who I would be able to share creativity and collaborate with,” notes Academy Award Nominated director Denis Villeneuve (INCENDIES, PRISONERS).
“In Jake I found someone that was highly intelligent and creative. He had a beautiful vision for the characters. It’s always fantastic for a director when your lead actor is so good that you can just follow him instead of telling him where to go. I love that.”
“When Jake's name was first put on the table we immediately realized we needed him,” recalls ENEMY Spanish producer Miguel A. Faura. “Not only is he an extremely gifted actor capable of delivering the wide range of subtleties needed for these two roles, but he has always showcased his taste and love for art and cinema in each role he has taken on. When he said yes, we felt not only lucky, but reaffirmed about the inner quality of our project.”
“First and foremost I wanted to make this movie because I think Denis is an incredible filmmaker,” says Gyllenhaal. “I was really drawn to the incredible script which offered an interesting blueprint for what Denis wanted to do with this idea. When I first met with Denis and talked about the film, his idea of what it was and what he wanted it to be far surpassed what the script was saying.”
Gyllenhaal had the unique task of playing two different characters that become entwined in each other’s lives. As can be expected, there was a delicate dance involved in creating the similarities and differences between the two characters. Villeneuve and Gyllenhaal agreed early on that the differences between Adam and Anthony should lie in subtleties.
“There are so many ways that you can go with this movie and I think probably the hardest one, the most interesting one, was making Adam and Anthony as close to each other as possible,” notes Gyllenhaal. “There’s the world in which one character has a beard and the other one doesn't and one talks with a funny accent and the other one doesn't. That would have been an incredibly vain way of going about it and I think, in a way, that's exactly what this movie isn't about.”
“I made choices early on about the characters and, as a result, Adam and Anthony started to separate from each other. I knew that I had to fall in love with both of them and that there couldn't be any judgment for either of the characters even while being in the scene with the other one,” explains Gyllenhaal. “What’s interesting about playing two characters in the same scene is the literal comparison of what you’re doing. I actually created the character of Adam before Anthony even showed up on the scene and the first time I worked as Anthony was when he was right across from Adam.” The film centers on Adam’s psychological struggle and, as Gyllenhaal notes, the notion of struggle is very apparent in both Adam and Anthony. “These two characters are struggling with the same thing in a different way but inevitably one of them has to let go and give up in order for the other to survive. The question of which one it’s going to be is ultimately what the movie is about,” states Gyllenhaal.

Moderated by ELLE Decoration’s Tom Castañeda, the second series of design conversations assembled an impressive panel of industry specialists who shared their expertise and discussed the importance of creating inspired interiors. Interior designer Eric Tañedo-Paras, architect Lara Fernandez Barrios, and art consultant Miguel Rosales led the panel discussion. They were also joined by Avida’s Innovation and Design Group Head Jojo Fabricante, who shared the design aesthetics and inspiration behind the featured projects in Avida Showroom Glorietta.
Fabricante also noted the importance of visiting a showroom particularly for condo dwellers looking for design inspirations. “Here at the Avida showroom, we feature a deliverable unit that shows you what you will get, while the model units show you the potential [of your home]. The event happened last July 6, 2014 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, though we didn't run much it was still a fun event. Together with my hubby we were and friends, of whom we exchanged buddies, we were able to grasp the whole idea of running with a buddy. Someone to encourage the other to do more. Personally I enjoyed it and had a great time even though I wasn't able to run with my hubby still it was fun having Marjorie as my running mate.
The Robinson's Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run which is an annual activity that encourages people to engage in healthier activities. Dubbed as I Love Wellness the campaign promotes the benefits of staying in shape and of course all participants in the run are encourage to finish the race with their buddies.
The participants for this year in the 5k and 10k events numbered to around 4,500 recreational runners, including the members of the national rugby team, the Philippine Volcanoes, and other celebrities. All finishers of the run are treated with some groceries and aside from the goodies runners also enjoyed the offerings of each booth present in the event.
The Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run is one of the series of events held annually by the largest health and wellness retail chain Robinsons Supermarket, as part of its I Love Wellness campaign.
