Under the helm of directors Earl Ignacio and Wincy Ong who also wrote the script, movie goers can expect an interesting and exciting storyline as well as a different 'Richard' and 'Lauren'.
For director Wincy Ong, Overtime is very Pinoy. “When I wrote it, I always envisioned the scenarios from movies like Die Hard or Taken, and what would they feel like if they happened in Manila. There have been many news reports of bombs going off in malls, offices and condominiums, but we haven't really had a movie that's a bomb going off. When I wrote the script, I always put in mind that the Filipino is the best protagonist in a film like this because we Pinoys are very resourceful in times of crisis, and we never give up.”
Although while doing the movie, they encountered challenges, both directors together with the crew and cast were able to pull it off and as per directore Earl, they are very thankful to GMA Films for their full support “Madaming challenges involved during the shoot but we were able to meet those challenges at napaka supportive ng GMA Films sa amin ni Wincy as newcomers in directing a full length commercial film like Overtime,” director Earl shared.
Working with the lead actors, both directores Earl and Wincy have all good things to say on how Richard and Lauren portrayed their characters as Dom and Jody. “Yung roles nila Lauren at Richard ay parehong mabait at masama. Hindi mo alam sinong kakampihan mo. I think medyo bago yung ganoong approach when it comes to Filipino movies,” said director Wincy.
“Napaka-challenging para sa kanilang dalawa itong movie na to kasi halos silang dalawa rin ang magdadala ng movie at nagawa nila iyon.” said director Earl, adding that the supporting cast like Mitch Valdes, Bearwin Meily, Roadfill, Renz Valerio and Mr. Roi Vinzon were also excellent in breathing life to their respective roles.
Ever since I like the way Lauren Young's acting she is so versatile and even in Overtime movie she did it well, I like her eyes very dramatic and meaningful, her eyes carries her acting. While Richard on the other hand did it well also, he acted well and he can be goon as well, he can be an action star, maybe his fan will ask him to make another movie like this.
And even the other cast gave their best to make the movie lively though this movie is not your typical intense suspense movie that will make you move off from your chair.
