GROUND BREAKING OF LYCEUM OF NORTHERN BULACAN
8/08/2015 09:30:00 AMLocal officials, educators and students joined investment and development partners last July 31, 2015 to celebrate the ground breaking of LYCEUM OF NORTHERN BULACAN, a soon-to-rise school located in the heart of San Rafael at Daang Maharlika, San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan which promises to bring world-class education with its state-of-the-art facilities.
The backbone of Lyceum of Northern Bulacan stemmed out from its root which is St. Raphael Montessori, Inc. which was incorporated on September 30, 1992. Back then, the town of San Rafael only had one private school. The need of the growing population was one of the inspirations of its foundress to put up the school using her rest house as the first classrooms offering only pre-elementary course. At present, St. Raphael Montessori School has 2 buildings and caters up to high school level but the founder’s vision lingers giving birth to the project which is the reason behind the ground breaking celebration.
A thanksgiving mass commenced the occasion which was solemnized by Rev. Fr. Vicente Lina, Jr. who is currently the Parish priest and rector of diocese shrine and parish Sacred Heart of Jesus in San Rafael. The school’s owner and President, Ms. Josefina Manalo Andaya, and who is also the founding President / Owner of St. Raphael Montessori School kicked off the landmark event by talking about the impact this development will have on the communities of San Rafael and the fulfillment of her dreams.“At one point in our lives, we dream, and we aspire to achieve this dream because of our sincere desire to leave a legacy. This is the reason why I did not stop and did not allow failure to overtake me. I have my strongest weapon and that is my determination to give back to the Lord and to the people of San Rafael all the blessings He has showered me and my family all these years.” Ms. Andaya in her speech also thanked the people at the helm of the celebration’s success with special mentions to Mr. Makoto Numata, Arch. Jovel Burgos, Arch. Danilo Ibay and Mr. Abel Pangan. A Japanese purifying ritual highlighted the ceremony wherein Rev. Morisuke Yamakura, a Shinto Priest blessed the “jichinsai” (groundbreaking) followed by traditional laying of the capsule which was graced by San Rafael’s very own Hon. Vice Mayor Edison Veneracion. Distinguished guests from partners and construction sectors partook in the event including Mr. Naokuni Miura (General Manager of International Division, Tonets Corporation in Japan) who called the school a milestone in his speech being a blend of Japanese and Philippine Engineering, design and construction. The establishment of this 3.3 hectare ten-building modern learning environment in which students from elementary and high school levels will find new opportunities in the educational system is expected to complete in April 2017.
The construction will be spearheaded by its General Contractor MODAIR MANILA CO. LTD., INC. , a subsidiary of Tonets Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. Design of the school was made possible by DCI & Architects while Project Management will be administered by John Calansing & Associates. “Let me share with you the overwhelming happiness of bringing fulfillment to a dream, the outpouring pride of giving the town of San Rafael the kind of education that they deserve and the fervent prayer for the realization of all these dreams. And when the time comes, this will no longer be a dream but a reality,” said Ms. Andaya.
