The Revengers Squad marks the coming together of Vice Ganda, Padilla, Wurtzbach, and director Bb. Joyce Bernal – a certified dream team composed of talented members who are individually considered as four of the country’s biggest entertainment icons.
Vice Ganda is a six-time Phenomenal Box-Office Star, whose track record in the MMFF remains unsurpassed for the past years. Vice consistently broke all box office records in all of his films and is probably the most instrumental star who redefined the landscape of mainstream movies with his megawatt blockbuster draw that cuts across every category of age, class, and gender.
For his latest film, Vice will be starring with a certified Box Office King, Padilla, also with a mammoth of successful films. The strength of Padilla’s popularity is also translated on the small screen as his current primetime telerserye on ABS-CBN, La Luna Sangre remains to bring in one of the highest ratings in the Philippine television.
Adding color to the lineup of stars is Wurtzbach, who created international headlines when she was crowned Miss Universe in the historic Miss Universe 2015 pageant. She snatched the coveted title and brought a well-deserved honor to the Philippines and to every Filipino in the most dramatic of fashions, transcending her status from celebrity to the exhilarating level of both national hero and national treasure.
Under the helm of Bernal and written by Danno Mariquit, “The Revenger Squad” marks a lot of firsts for Vice, Padilla, and Wurtzbach. This is the first time that Vice Ganda and Padilla will be doing a superhero film, with the latter also trying his hand in comedy the first time. Meantime, this is the big screen debut of Wurtzbach after her big win.
The conflict begins when the eccentric superhero Kweenie (Pia Wurtzbach) enters their lives and drops the truth that could break their family.
What makes a hero super? Is it special abilities and superpowers? Or is it the innate ability of the hero to love? Will love, laughter, and joy save the day from the forces of evil?
