The Girl from Yesterday will bring us back to those memories as we experience the high school life of Thu. The film is based on the classic novel of the same name by author Nguyen Nhat Anh, a novel known by many generations of students in Vietnam. Even if you’re from the 80s or the 2000s, the book will still make you laugh with its witty lines or will make you feel nostalgic when you see yourself back at the age of 15.
Everyone will find a lot of relatable situations even if you went to school 20 or 30 or 40 years ago. We will still remember the classrooms being noisy, messy but fun and when the bell rings in time for recess, everyone goes with their own silly businesses. Students here and there, doing homework or chatting about what’s the latest trend or about their crushes.
The film will also remind us about our teachers, our mentors. The people who shaped us to be the best we can be, even if we get to be the most stubborn student they’ve had.
The school’s heartthrob, the class clown, the classmate who’s always late, who always sleeps, the teacher’s pet and most of all, that special person who inspires you to go to school every day.
The Girl from Yesterday promises to give the audience various emotions that will bring us back to our childhood memories.
“The Girl from Yesterday” opens in Philippine cinemas February 14, 2018 from CJ Entertainment and Yeah! CMG, locally distributed by Rafaella Films International.
