We, Filipinos, loves to eat. We are very adventurous when it comes to food. We love to taste different flavors, here in the Philippines and even in other countries. I'm just glad that I don't have to go abroad just to taste some of the flavorful dishes from these different countries. They are the ones who bring their cuisines here in our country.


 

 
Of course, there are also trends when it comes to food, what is in and what is hot. Right now, some of the trending dishes that you can find almost everywhere are the Samgyup and Yakiniku. I believe these dishes are the "in" thing right now. So, I'm "in" right now because I was able to have a taste this food craze at present and I had it tried at Yakikai Grill and Fusion Buffet. One of the newest establishments in the area. They just opened last December 2019 and lines are already piling. It is located in the area of Scout Lazcano in Tomas Morato.

According to its owner, the name of the restaurant, Yakikai literally means "Grill Together" - "Yaki" means "Grill", while "Kai" means "Together." Well, it is, in fact, right, because we love and enjoy food with our loved ones. Family, friends, colleagues and loved ones will enjoy the offerings at Yakikai.

Yakikai offers an interesting dish, the Samgyupsal that you'll surely enjoy grilling at your table. You can also try the buffet near their open kitchen. They see to it that they prepare fresh meals for their customer. You can never feel the food fatigue with their selection of food. What's more interesting is that they have this as unlimited or eat all you can.

Yakikai can accommodate 150 pax and they also have a reservation to those who would want to enjoy their foods immediately. I, myself, together with the other Bloggers enjoyed the foods and the dessert they have served for us. Check out also their different kinds of ice cream as your dessert. 
I didn't know that people are really craving for their offering not until I saw the line that had built up outside of the establishment. From the entrance of Yakikai till outside, there are really plenty of people waiting to listed and served. Take note that at that time it is mid-week, not even a weekend. Customers are surely eager to try what Yakikai offers.
Because of this, my friends and my family message me that they want to try it. Even in my social media post, my churchmate and high school barkada are asking about Yakikai.
To give them a hit of the flavor, last weekend, my BFF "Kita Kits Girls" visited Yakikai. I made sure to have a reservation on that day, unfortunately, Yakikai's reservation was already full. So, we decided to be just a walk-in customer. That was Sunday and it is a wow, we came to the restaurant around past 4 PM. Take note of our number "No. 33", but Yakikai accommodated until 28 only for that batch. That was just a few minutes after they have opened, by the way, they open at 4 PM onwards. So we waited for almost 1 hour just to enjoy this eat all you can samgyeopsal. So many people want to try it. Me, I'll definitely be back again. Actually, I will try to reserve again this coming weekend for my family. Oh well, it seems that I am a Yakikai fan now.

When your hard works pays off, it just feels great. I know as a Mom how it feels when your little ones get a recognition or an interesting award. One of the interesting to go place of every unli rice lover and home of the leading branded grilled chicken, Mang Inasal, recently took home top plums in the prestigious 2019 Araw Values Awards.

Mang Inasal was recognized for its exceptional work on their Solb ang Pinoy, Gawad PiliPinoy, HoLEAFDay Araw ng Kalayaan, and Buwan ng Wika Pampilipit ng Dila campaigns.

Mang Inasal’s Solb ang Pinoy, a digital video that celebrated unique Filipino craftsmanship and work ethics, won a Gold Araw Values Award under the Advocacy and Branded Communications - Love of Country and Respect for National Customs and Traditions category. The material featured two beloved Pinoy craftsmen – the barong maker and the banig weaver. The video garnered 8 million views, 100 thousand reactions, over 1,000 comments and 8,000 shares.

Meanwhile, two digital contents -- the Independence Day and the Eid Mubarak Leaf posts -- each received Silver in the Technical Awards Production Design category. The materials were cited for their creative use of banana leaves as a design element.

The video featuring Mang Inasal’s 2019 Gawad PiliPinoy awardee, Iloisa Romaraog-Diga, received a Bronze Araw Values Award under the Advocacy and Branded Communications - Respect and Care for Life and Dignity and Rights category.

The winning video showed how Session Groceries, the online portal Diga helped establish, has been providing Benguet farmers an alternative online distribution channel, enabling them to command better prices.

The Gawad PiliPinoy Session Groceries video also received two Bronze Technical Awards: one for Sound Design and another one for Cinematography.

Lastly, for the Buwan ng Wika Pampilipit Dila, Mang Inasal received another Bronze, again under the Love of Country and Respect for National Customs and Traditions. By creating challenging tongue twisters or "pampilipit dila" in Filipino, Mang Inasal challenged Filipinos on the street to test their skills. Utilizing a foreigner as host further fueled the fire for our kababayans to showcase their dormant Filipino skills. The 2018 video proved to be a hit – garnering over 4 million views, 74,000 reactions, over 1,000 comments, and 5,000 shares.

“We share these awards with DDB Philippines who have made all these digital initiatives possible. Indeed, these Araw Values Awards inspire us to continue developing and posting similarly themed contents,” Cacapit added.

The Araw Values Awards is a biennial event sponsored by the Ad Foundation. They aim to recognize advertising campaigns that uphold Filipino values based on the Ad Foundation’s ARAW cornerstone values — love of God, commitment to truth, honesty, and integrity; love of country and respect for national customs and traditions; reverence for family unit or marriage or responsible parenthood; respect and care for human life, dignity and the rights of all; respect for law and authority and the promotion of self- discipline; and concern for and preservation of the environment.

We have been posting stories about TikTok lately, and who's not my youngest son is a TikToker, so it is just interesting that I always share something we are interested with. And another thing this one is about BTS.

In case you didn’t know, oddly satisfying videos are short clips that show mundane activities, which viewers may find strangely, sometimes inexplicably, fulfilling. This trend has quickly transformed into a huge online content niche all over social media, and TikTok is no exception. By simply searching for the hashtag #oddlysatisfying, you should be able to see how many people create content like this, and how many viewers actually respond to these types of posts.

But what is it about these videos that get people so hooked in the first place? Is there a magic ingredient that their creators add, enabling them to rouse positive emotions like satisfaction, joy and relaxation, from watching clips of ordinary, everyday things being done? Many believe this is due to a combination of several different factors, both psychological and physiological.

From a scientific perspective, watching videos like these are believed to produce a reaction in the body called an autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), which is like a skin-tingling sensation that spurs positive emotions. When this happens, the brain releases serotonin and dopamine, chemicals that are both known to make people happy. While this doesn’t happen for everyone, it’s easy to see how those who react this way to oddly satisfying videos get hooked on watching them.

Another factor is the repetitive, often rhythmic nature of these videos, which brings an almost meditative quality to them. Probably you're one of the people who are hook with these four princesses who are making your afternoon worth taking time to watch and rest.
