New generation’s ‘Movie Queen’ Bea Alonzo and one of the most in demand leading men in Philippine show business, Paulo Avelino, will team up for the first time in ABS-CBN’s upcoming drama series entitled “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon,” unveiling on The Filipino Channel (TFC) worldwide this June.

According to Alonzo aside from working with Avelino, she is thrilled with the multiple characters that she will portray in the series.


“It’s my first time to do something like this that is why I’m so excited. This is the most challenging role that I’ve ever done in my career so far,” said Alonzo who will give life to the roles of a feisty lawyer named Emmanuelle and the heiress of a chocolate company named Rose.

Avelino, on the other hand, feels blessed to be working with Alonzo and award-winning actors like Albert Martinez, Eddie Garcia, Dina Bonnevie, Tonton Gutierrez, Anita Linda, Maricar Reyes, and Susan Roces.


“More than being pressured, I am honored that I’m given the chance to work with them because I am really learning so much as an actor,” shared Avelino, who will portray the role of Patrick, a young man who will fall in love with one of Alonzo’s characters, Rose.

Under the direction of Jerome Pobocan and Trina Dayrit, “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon” will tell the story of how the two totally opposite women, Rose and Emmanuelle, will be united by fate and by their hunger to seek for the truth and justice.

Completing the powerhouse cast of ABS-CBN’s newest drama series airing on TFC are Nikki Valdez, Bembol Rocco, Francis Magundayao, Michelle Vito, and Miguel Vergara.

“The Legal Wife” will not just heat up worldwide television with fierce confrontations but with real-life issues as well, according to top caliber directors Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao.

“We want to make sure that our audience will follow our show not only because of the slapping scenes, but also because, through it, they learn how to deal with the problems of their own families which they have been afraid to face,” said Quintos about the series top-billed by Angel Locsin, Maja Salvador, JC de Vera, and Jericho Rosales.



“Many viewers will be able to connect with the characters of Monica (Locsin), Nicole (Salvador), Max (de Vera), and Adrian (Rosales), because their personal battles are true-to-life. “The Legal Wife” is about the love and sacrifices that a person is willing to do for the sake of his family,” Lumibao explained.

Meanwhile, Locsin, Salvador, de Vera and Rosales revealed that the story of “The Legal Wife” also made them discover a lot about themselves.




“Everyone has already experienced how to love and make mistakes. Because of my character Monica, I realized that I need to be strong in order to face all the trials in my life, especially if my family is affected,” said Locsin.

For Rosales, the plot of “The Legal Wife” will serve as a huge eye-opener for Filipino families. “Infidelity is such a sensitive topic, but I believe that this is the right time to make everyone understand why this happens, and why people end up in this situation,” he said.




Salvador added that while her character in the series is controversial, she believes that many people will be able to relate with Nicole. “There are many kinds of love, but there is this kind where somebody accepts your whole personality despite of the things that you did in the past,” she shared.



 
 “I appreciate love for my family and for others now, more than I used to because of my character Max’ ability to give everything he has got without asking for anything in return,” de Vera said.

“The Legal Wife” features the story of Monica and Adrian, a married couple whose lives are about to turn around because of a huge mistake. How will Monica and Adrian be able to fulfill the promise of forever when the foundation of their relationship is already shattered?



Also part of “The Legal Wife” cast are some of the country’s best drama actors including Joem Bascon, Ahron Villena, Rio Locsin, Mark Gil, Maria Isabel Lopez, Bernard Palanca, and Christopher de Leon.

Honesto is all about honesty and during the press conference all the casts are required to answer the questions in all honesty.   Even their ages they answered it honestly.



"Honesto" revolves around the story of a young boy name Honesto (Raikko Mateo), the son of Diego (Paulo Avelino), and Fina (Maricar Reyes).  Just like his mother's family, Honesto grew up having an allergy that causes his nose to swell whenever he tells a lie.



Raikko Mateo is the newest child wonder of ABS CBN, he's so cute and consistently saying that he just want to see his self on TV, that's why he wants to be a child actor.
According to Direk Jerry Lopez Sineneng, Raikko went through an audition and one of the trait made them choose the kids is because of his eyes.  The eyes is very important for this drama series because as a kid it reflects the sincerity and honesty innate in him.



Good Attitude, Attentive, Honest and bubbly, those are the characteristics of Raikko as most of the casts describes him during the media launch.



It is topbilled by award winning and seasoned actors such as  Paulo, Eddie Garcia, Janice de Belen, Angel Aquino, Nonie Buencamino, Joel Torre, Melissa Ricks, Joseph Marco and introducing ABS-CBN's newest Kapamilya child star Raikko.

Now, that Juan Dela Cruz has end, I think my kids will not be sad because I will introduce to them the new teleserye "Honesto". I'm sure they will love it and it will be our bonding moment. For sure after watching "Honesto" it will be our sign to turn the lights off just like what we did in Juan Dela Cruz.

Juan Dela Cruz is the Teleserye that my kids always watch before they go to bed. After JDC then lights off, that's the sign that they are going to sleep because my eldest son have school early in the morning.

Now, that Juan Dela Cruz is about to end, my kids frowned at the moment that I told them that just in a few weeks they are no longer watch the teleserye. For now, they are enjoy watching the said Teleserye.


Before the ending, I am fortunate to interview Coco Martin the lead star of Juan Dela Cruz. He shared his experiences, lessons and the challenges in the Teleserye.

Mr. Coco Martin is very thankful that JDC changed him into a better actor and more responsible Filipino citizen. According to him, he will miss the cast of Juan Dela Cruz because all of them treat each other as a true family. Coco really enjoy doing the Teleserye.


"Because of the show and our advocacy projects, I do not only delight people through acting. I also get the chance to get to know, bond and help our viewers who are in need. It's a different kind of joy when people, especially the youth, tell me that I inspire them," explained Coco who actively participate in several "Juan Fun School Day" activities, which provided school supplies to the less fortunate students in different parts of the country.


There are still a lot of revelation that all of us should watch our for in the last two weeks of the show. My kids will definitely see the last few episodes how Juan Dela Cruz fights for his life.

It's been a decade since the last time I watched Maria Mercedes with Thalia as the lead star.  I am a big fan of Thalia way back when I was a teenager, I used to watch her Teleserye and I loved it very much.

Now that ABS CBN will do a Pinay version of Maria Mercedes I am so excited and curious to know how it will be delivered with a touch of Pinoy style.  The Pinay Maria Mercedes role will be played by Jessy Mendiola.  She is considered as one of Philippine TV's prettiest faces, one of the sexiest and talented actress of this generation.


Jessy is very grateful and happy that she will portray the role of Maria Mercedes.
