In celebration of its 4th anniversary this July, Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health) launches Soar, a community family day for children diagnosed with cancer. The anniversary activity will be held on July 13, 2019 at the Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City.

AC Health has partnered with Kythe Foundation, a non-government organization, which provides Child Life services and psychosocial support to children with chronic illnesses.

Over 60 cancer patients, together with their family members, and volunteers from the Ayala group will come together for an afternoon of kite flying, games, and entertainment performances.

AC Health President and CEO, Paolo Borromeo, said that the anniversary activity aims to encourage volunteerism across the Ayala group in support of AC Health’s vision of expanding access to healthcare.

“Cancer treatment is difficult for many Filipinos, and in this event, we want to take the time to celebrate family and community amidst such difficulties. It is also our way of connecting with patients and their families, so that we can make sure our cancer hospital is responsive to their needs.” Borromeo said.

Last month, AC Health announced its plan to build a 100-bed, comprehensive cancer hospital in Metro Manila, with the goal of providing high-quality cancer care services, at a more affordable price. Cancer is now the third leading cause of death in the Philippines.

Soar is also in line with Ayala Corporation’s 185th year celebration.

Love Your Own! This is what I came into my mind when I heard Salu, The Filipino Restaurant. It is a place where we, Pinoys can enjoy a lot. From the name of it and also their menu, the Pinoy food we all enjoy together with our family.



The Salu Restaurant is a very homey place where everyone can enjoy. I loved their interior design and perhaps they anticipated that Filipinos loves to eat together that's why they have long tables with them, and as in up to the extended family. I personally experienced when my youngest brother celebrated his birthday at Salu.

We were 15 and they accommodated that number of persons with their long tables exclusively for a number of families or friends together. My family loves their food and they enjoyed it that much. Most of my siblings were asking when will we go back at Salu. Of course this is not our last time, we will for sure visit SALU Restaurant again.
SALU Restaurant is almost a year now since they first opened their doors to hungry Manilenyo's last July 9, 2016. They provided an avenue of authentic treats for their customers. Dishes that comes from the different regions of the Philippines made it interesting. These include gaining tie ups with some organizations such as Hashtag Philippines through Antoinette Taus, where average of 300 kids are fed every event with Salu packed lunches that come with love notes form volunteers. Salu was also chosen to represent the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao for the biggest food convention in the world- Madrid Fusion, where they showcased their best southern dishes that's available only at restaurant. Chefs, culinary experts and delegates of the congress were in awe witht he taste of Mindanao cuisines that's unique and distinct due to special ingredients such as pampa, that famous in Mindanao. Some of the featured dishes include Beef Kulma, Syagul Pagi, Utak Utak and Pyanggang. "We are grateful to be chosen by DOT-ARMM heade by Mrs. Ayesha Mangudadatu Dilangalen, to represent their region at the prestigious Madric Fusion. I Love QC! I live here for almost 3 decades, I was 3 years old back then when my parents decided to live here in Quezon City for good. I'm proud to be Quezonian!

Quezon City Memorial Circle is not new to me, almost every month we went there for family bonding and to relax from the busy world of work. Since I have my own Family and having a 2 kids, strolling and playing at Circle is a must now for us, specially that they do have so many activities there.

I am privileged to be part of the Quezon City 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary, to kick off the celebration, they toured us, Bloggers, to one of the famous landmark and historical site in Quezon City which is the Quezon Heritage House located inside the Quezon City Memorial Circle.

 According to our Tour guide, 60 percent of the Quezon Heritage House is preserved from the original house while 40 percent is just a replica of it.

The Quezon City government, desirous of preserving and protecting the City's heritage, signed a memorandum of Agreement with the heirs of President Quezon, represented by the brothers Manuel, Benjamin and Ricky Quezon-Avecena for the transfer of the original Quezon House at 45 Gilmore st., to its new location at QMC.
The Quezon Heritage House is historically significant because it is associated to the lifestyle and health of the Philippine Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon. The only residence in the city he founded. This reflects the country / rehabilitation house architecture of the American period and the family life of the former President.


I remember when I was in Elementary at Commonwealth Elementary School part of our field trip was to visit QMC. The Quezon Heritage House can be visited as well and anyone can feel free to visit and there is no fee required. It is open to the public from Tuesdays to Sundays from 9am to 4pm.

I will let my kids visit the Quezon Heritage House when we schedule our stroll again at QMC.

From October 6 - 9, there will be International Pink Film Festival at Cinema 1, Gateway Mall, Cubao. This is a landmark event that provides platform for the public recognition of the country's LGBT Community made more meaningful with the passage of the City's Gender Fair Ordinance.
 

October 11 there will be QCROCKS@75 form 7pm to 12 midnight at Quezon City Memorial Cirlce. The City will sponsor a grand concert for the residents and even tourists around the area. It will feature some of the best rock bands in the country like Parokya ni Edgar, Rocksteddy and other stand up comedians and artists.

October 12, there will be a State of the City Address at Carlos Albert Hall, Quezon City Hall. This is where Mayor Herbert Bautista presents to the public the status of the City's programs and projects together with upcoming developments and more.

October 19, Manuel L. Quezon Gawad Parangal Night which will be held at Smart Araneta, Cubao. It is a night where QC honors its most outstanding citizens and institutions who contributed well to the community.
