Job is very important to all of us, to make a living, to socialize, and to experience challenges. Today, the numbers of jobless in the Philippines are increasing. What do you think is the problem? Well, I myself don’t know.
In line with this problem, SM Supermall is there to help in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment. That is why they held a Job Fair for all Filipinos who are seeking for job across their malls nationwide. The partnership has indeed grown which made it to its 6th year already. So basically SM Supermalls has been helping and doing the Job Fair annually for 6 years already. Of course with the help of DOLE, other agencies, and companies.
Recently, I covered the Job Fair at SM San Lazaro. I've been in some SM City Malls but never been to SM City San Lazaro. So with interest and the urge to see the place we head on to SM City San Lazaro. This time it's more of a challenge because I've never been to this place and I haven't wrote something about it. So, for my first write up about SM City San Lazaro is about the JOB FAIR and the Food Trip that we had. So better continue reading and see what transpired during the day.
While walking towards the mall I did see some people lined up outside of the mall and I am pretty much sure that it is not a protest. When got closer, I was amazed that the line for the applicants or the job seekers was that long and on the aisle area I see people busy checking documents and writing something on resumes or forms.
According to SM the population of Job Seekers increases yearly. Last year they were able to have 600 plus Job Seekers and for this year they estimating to reach roughly a 1,000 jobseekers. Ms. Lea Casamayor, SM City San Lazaro's Mall Manager announced that there were 68 employers with 6,000 jobs available presents during the Job Fair. Present also during the activity was the DOLE Representative Ms Ruby Daquigan to supervise and monitor the Job Fair.
Well, let us hope that there will be a good number of applicants that will end up with a job to help the country lessen the number of jobless individuals.
After covering the Job Fair, it made me hungry. Courtesy of the tenants of SM City San Lazaro, bloggers who were present were treated for some good and tasty tummy-fillers. The bloggers were leaded by Sir Jesse to the SM food court for the treat. SM Food Court are having their promos like the treat of eco bag for every Php250.00 single receipt or a newspaper treat for every Php200.00 single receipt. I think this will still run until the end of May 2013.
When we got to the Food court at the Ground Floor, Sisig Hooray was given to us, this is my long time favorite dish. Sisig Hooray is the Food Court’s new tenant. Like any other food establishments in the food court they all went through a process and soon Sisig Hooray will be out of the kiosk and will be placed in the specific area. Aside from Sisig Hooray, Binalot was also served and mine was Binalot’s Bistek, a Filipino dish with a big cup of Rice, Bistek, salted egg, and fresh slice of tomato wrapped in banana leaves. I also have Master Siomai. Oh, did I eat more? Yes, I admit that I eat more, I can’t refuse to those tasty treats.
Oh wait, there's more, I tried also the Master Siomai, I think I almost eat 4 pcs of it, despite that my tummy is already full. Well, you know the mommy, haha. After munching some of the foods at the Food court, well it’s time for dessert which we did visited the Bread Story. Tasty and it got different flavors and kinds of bread to choose from. After that I stroll around the mall together with my hubby and other blogger friends, since this is my first time here.
The food trip isn’t over yet because after more than an hour of stroll we were also treated by Kenny Rogers with their latest healthy snacks and meals. We were served with Roasted Pork Burrito, Ranch Pork Quesadilla, and Roast Pork Belly. I like most the Pork Quesadilla, cheesy and tasteful.
Oh, did I just make a trip on this blog, well I guess I did. So heads on some SM Supermalls near you because SM got it all for us.
