The value of sharing continues to live in the hearts of many Filipinos as proven by the continuous success of Jollibee's long running book and toy drive Maaga ang Pasko. Collecting 367,240 books and toys on its 18th year - a 15th increase from last year's 313,566 toys and books gathered, the campaign brought together generous families, companies, schools and individuals who united to give a brighter Christmas to those in need.
To thank the unwavering support of its school and company partners, Jollibee recently recognized its Jolly Toy Scouts with a thanksgiving blowout held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Hotel in Pasig City. The event also highlighted the achievements of the 18th Maaga ang Pasko last year. Over 200 partners schools, companies, and families actively participated in last year's campaign - from hanging their symbolic pledges on the Maaga ang Pasko Tree during the campaign kick off to participating in the toy clean up and the Christmas caravan and family gift giving.
During the program, Jollibee presented its partners schools and companies with especially designed trophies, as well as thank you cards from some of the beneficiaries. The country's pop rock sensation Yeng Constantino, together with the acclaimed Regalo del Cielo Singers, also treated the Jolly Toy Scouts with inspiring song numbers.
"Maaga and Pasko has been running for 18 years already, but the support we get from our partners only intensifies year after year, " said Jollibee Vice President for Marketing Albert C. Cuadrante. "As Jollibee celebrates our 35th anniversary this year, we promise to make Maaga ang Pasko even bigger for both our partners and beneficiaries. This year, we plan to enjoin Filipino families abroad, by encouraging those outside the Philippines to take part in the campaign".
Maaga ang Pasko is the country's biggest and longest running book and toy collection campaign with over 2 million toys and books distributed to less fortunate kids during Christmas since 1994.
