Like today, we're in a very unusual situation where we are ought to be in the confines of our houses as much as possible. But of course, it would be a different circumstance after we thrive through this pandemic. Anyway, for now, let's do things with caution and consideration of the health protocols.
I'm not an expert in hunting for apartments, but I did have my fair share of experience looking for an apartment for our family. Yes, my husband and I did look for an apartment for our family. I think that was when we were beginning with our family life and our eldest son was still young. Probably that was the best option for starting families since not everyone is born with a golden spoon.
In just few more years, our son will be in college, and I remember he openly shared that he wanted to go to the US of A to work. So, I, as a loving and clingy mom, would want my son to live the best life. Also, being a worrier, I actually did think in advance and researched my way to these apartments, particularly in Los Angeles. I tried to look for an apartment where he can live. At least I know where he would be living. So, here are some of the tips that I can share with you when you're hunting for apartments, especially if you're doing it online.
- Narrow down your research, at least down to the area in the city. You can check out any available apartments for rent in the area. It will also give a clear perspective of the place since there's also the satellite feed in google maps.
-
Check out listings from trusted sites if they have their data from that particular city, and in my case, it's Los Angeles. A website called Zumper got their listings to browse for a possible match of apartments for rent in Los Angeles.
-
If you think you have found one, check out the details about the apartment, like how big the area is, how much it is, and of course the pictures. Check if the photo matches the description they provided.
-
Always have at least three options. It will serve as your alternate in case the other is not available anymore.
-
Prepare the necessary documents needed. It's better to prepare all the documents as early as possible to avoid the hassle.
- The most important of all is the budget. How much are you willing to spend on renting an apartment. Or probably the right words to say is that, "how much is your budget?" If you're starting better, find yourself an affordable rent to get you through your daily needs, but if you're well-off, go with the one that fits your personality.
