Wunderkind musician Fern. has launched his self-titled debut E.P. ‘Fern.’ last March 30, 2018.

The 17 year-old singer-songwriter-producer having only been active on the scene for a few months has already garnered multiple achievements. His first single ‘Into You,’ debuted and stayed at #1 on the Spotify Philippines Top 50 Viral Chart for one week, and has garnered over 1.5 million plays on Spotify. ‘Into You,’ along with his latest single ‘Wanna Dance With You’ have both been included by Spotify in playlists in countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines. With themes that colorfully change as easily as the seasons of the year, one could consider Kylie Padilla's debut album Seasons as an intimate eek into her diary. Whether an attempt to broaden her bankability as an enduring entertainer or purely a different avenue for self expression, Season successfully proves that Kylie isn't content to rest on her acting laurels-or her celebrity pedigree.

Now 21, Kylie has experienced the ups and downs of life, and it shows on the album. She takes this kind of growth on her GMA Records debut to develop a sound that is distinctly her own. It's a personal record that speaks volumes about the aches and pains of young love. Themes of broken hearts, longing, breakups in various incantations, and outright hurt influence the aesthetics.

Lead single “Gitara” is a deeply personal song that defines the album's directions. Starting off like a Taylor Swift track, “Gitara” portrays Kylie like an entirely different artist with vocals that shift from plaintive to powerful—almost fusing her acting with her singing. A closer observations reveals that Kylie has the hallmarks of a versatile recording artist: she possesses a sweet voice yet there is strength that allows her to play with notes effectively, change tones without effort, and belt out crescendos like she was built for power ballads.

Surprisingly, her debut is filled with crafty, well-produced pop that suits Kylie perfectly. One of the catchier tunes is the insistent synth-driven “Awake” however, the sunny melodies and poppy production mask the sad reflective undertones in which she puts on her hopelessly confessional girl image up front.

It's a continuing style throughout and she pulls it off quite respectably even on more straight forward tracks like the twinkly feel good number “Thank You” and the gentle but confrontational “Mine”. In the latter, Kylie faces the situation openly, using her head more that her heart in the same manner that she utilizes her voice; that it isn't always about the high notes. She carries the simple song through the end until she sends a “You're not mine anymore” kiss-off to the unlucky guy.

The other songs showcase even more diversity, which illustrates why this 21-years old beauty deserves to be herd. “Lonely Without You” gives the impression of a post-Michelle Branch intro but a minute into the track, incorporates more current pop/urban trends. With tantalizing verses, sultry pleads, and a memorable chorus, “Lonely” is by far the most accomplished song that is likely to get critical appeal.

The album is filled with metaphors to, unconsciously or not, match Kylie's mood. Title track “Seasons” and its plodding piano set the backdrop of a lost love being compared to the changing seasons: “Cause it hurts like freezing snow, it's not summer, no, not anymore”. To an extent, Kylie's voice is responsible for adding depth to an otherwise sleepy product. She sings like she acts, and that is her redeeming quality. “Sulat” is a lovely little love song with restrained vocals that harks back to a time before the social media explosion. And it's a significant moment when you look at the album in its entirely: front loaded with disappointments and heart break, “Sulat” and final track “Alive” close the journey on a positive note. Sending the message that there is life after heartbreak, that their are second chances. This is the point that Kylie seems to assert in her record.

This isn't even more evident that on the adventurous and resurgent “Alive”. It's electropop done right, marrying an ice-princess persona, celestial vocals, sparkling bass line, and an irresistible hook. “love makes us feel alive...we want to feel alive,,” she sings as if she has found herself again. With pulsing beats and pretty piano notes supporting the verses, Kylie manages to sound modern and refreshing on this atmospheric slice of beautifully embellished pop. Truly a moment of brilliance.

There are plenty of surprises on her first foray into music and many of those will astonish even the fiercest of her critics. Like the metaphors generously sprinkled on her songs, Kylie has blossomed into more than just her father's prominent name. Seasons finds her alive and kicking, on her own-and that is a game-changing gamble that will undoubtedly pay off.

The mommy in me made me think once again if today's music will eventually make me fall in love once more.  After listening to TJ Monterde's music during the Bloggers' Event I believe I had once again been mesmerize by the warm and soulful voice of this New Acoustic Pop Balladeer none other than TJ Monterde or for long Titus John Monterde.  Great that I have listened to his voice.

For the benefit of those who doesn't know him yet, TJ Monterde is one of the known disc jockey or DJ in Cagayan de Oro which also by the way sings in some of his gig and then became also one of the TV host of ABS-CBN’s regional show and then became a Youtube-born balladeer.  With his soulful and heartwarming voice proves that this guy is not only looks but also got some good entertainment package to offer.  I remember one of the blogger said that good that he got voice and looks because in some cases, especially here in the metro, DJs are just DJs... you know what I mean about that.

TJ Monterde shares that some of the songs included in the album are all his original creations which is mostly about love and most of all songs are lonely ones.  He also shares the stories behind his original songs.   One of his songs entitled “Ikaw at Ako” was used as theme song in "My Super Fan Girl" written and directed by Marcelo Santos III.   The song “Ikaw at Ako” became his signature song.


TJ Monterde’s debut album “Ikaw at Ako” is now available in record stores. Released under Galaxy Records and distributed by PolyEast Records.

Recorded at Studio 1103 in Quezon City (owned by Lito Camo), “Ikaw at Ako” finds the singer/songwriter pushing six OPM old hits and five originally penned songs in about equal measure. Collaborating with top-notch producers and musical engineers, Monterde’s debut album boasts the first single “Ikaw At Ako” and showcases his soulful wail and guitar playing.

Currently, “Ikaw at Ako” is playing on local radios and it’s music video has caught positive feedback online garnering 40,000 YouTube viewers in two weeks and Pinoy MYX Countdown charted on #4.


“This album is a conscious decision and what I thought really needed to happen. It just felt like I needed someone to rattle my cage, take some risks and continuously love what you do. With the accessibility of the social media, I was able make it work” Monterde shared.

Fast forward to 2013, Galaxy Records signed Monterde in 2012 and have finally giving fans what they have been waiting for. As the album lightens up with a few remakes, Monterde, a big OPM fan himself included six OPM classics “I enjoy singing songs I grew up listening to. My parents, being artists too, have influenced me a lot. These are the songs that, for me, we should be proud of and I’m taking this part to relive them.”

Leaning back to the old OPM sound and yet giving another life to each song, seven covers include “Cold Summer Nights” (Francis Magalona), “Hindi Mo Ba Minamahal” (Dingdong Avanzado), “Iyong-iyo” (Big Thing), “Mabuti Pa Sila” (Gary Granada), “Mahal na Mahal” (Archie D), “Pangako” (Kindred Garden) and “‘Wag na Lang Kaya” (Truefaith).


Taking a different path aside from his hosting stints, Monterde said “I’m just being true to my craft. Sometimes it’s great to take the leash off and share a little of what you have—to my listeners, viewers online and to OPM as a whole. Although it doesn’t stray too far from what I’ve done as a host/radio jockey, I can still share my stories through this album and that was the result of taking risks.”

Original music does exist and if you want all OPM acoustic songs in its purest form, then look no further than TJ Monterde’s debut album called “Ikaw at Ako”. Laced with guitars and subtle singing, Monterde is probably the wordiest singer you will ever listen to nowadays.

Achievement is the sign of success. Big Drem will come true just like what happen to Yeng Constantino. She has been 6 years in the music industry. She started as the big winner of the Pinoy Dream Academy or PDA and continuesly perform here in the Philippines and abroad. Her list of chart-toppers came from her four albums which earned her the title as the Philippines' Rock Princess.

Her love for writing songs and performing eventually became a passion to bring back OPM back to the mainstream and give Filipino musicians the recognition from all over the world. Last year made that dream came into reality when she performed at the Academy of Rock in Manila. After that performance , her song “Salamat” was included in the syllabus of the Academy of Rock and people behind the school namely Jeremy Ward of Rockschool UK, Charles Lim and Priscilla Teo of Academy of Rock in Singapore decided to give her an Honorary Licentiate Diploma. Yeng is the 7th person to be give this award among artists from all over the world for being a top notch performer and musician.



Yeng went ot Academy of Rock Singapore to perform and receive this prestigious award. A technical glitch prompted Yeng to perform “Salamat” live without any hesitation. Impressing the management of the school for a second time, Yeng became Academy of Rock's ambassadress as she signed the contract last May 2 at the Academy of Rock School in Rockwell, Makati. A first collaboration of its kind, between an educational service provider and an international star, the award-winning brand from Singapore will count on Yeng's appeal as the Philippines' Rock Princess to be an example for all budding music stars from their academy to follow.

Founded in 2006, The Academy of Rock has dedicated the academy to teaching only rock and popular music. With the aim of living by their fundamental principles of raising musicality, nurturing individuality, inspiring creativity and promoting appreciation through fun, they have a unique teeaching setup that goes beyond that of a traditional music school. Does anyone know the sitcom Daddy didodu of GMA 7? Well if you're one of viewers who enjoyed watching the sitcom then you'll definitely know Duday, the little one, the youngest among the three of Vic Sotto's kids in the sitcom.   I think the sitcom lasted for almost 7 years.

So, who she was right now?  She's Isabelle De Leon a fine young lady who's into music now!  She is not only a singer but a songwriter as well.  She writes her own composition.   This girl is a total package, not only that she sings and knows how to write but this girl has very powerful. Not the typical sweetly poply singer but more of a rockstar type.  I like the way she sing and did I say she's a total package will she also knows how to play musical instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, piano and harmonica as inspired by her musician dad who taught her to play the instruments.


She already composed 25 songs and 6 of them are all in the album entitled LoveZone. Here are the tracklist.

1. Feelingero - the first song she wrote way back when she was 16 years old, Its about young love.
2. One Week to Move on - she describes this as "dealing with the raw emotions around heartbreaks".

Well I have mentioned before that she's a child star way back then and when she got back in acting she was featured in one of ABS-CBN's teleserye entitled "Nasaan Ka Elisa", she was the younger sister of Elisa.  She also did an indie film and now she's crossing her fingers and hoping to be chosen as one of the cast of Maria Mercedes, the upcoming teleserye on the same station. 

Aside on busy schedule, she is still studying 2nd year college major in Mass Communication.

Kimpoy Feliciano the charming, witty, and down-to-earth person and considered as an online heartthrob amassed a number of online followers in cyberspace. From twitter, facebook, tumblr, to youtube the number of his followers are no less than six digits. With this phenomenon it paved way for doors of opportunity.

Produced by Universal Records, Kimpoy was able to launched his self-titled debut album to a number of supporters who packed the SM Manila Entertainment Center. The album includes the hit song Ikaw Lang, which topped the www.mymusicstore.com.ph charts for two weeks and figured prominently in the MYX Daily Top 10 for almost three weeks.

Last week, it was a great Monday and a wonderful opportunity to meet the Prince of Teleserye Theme song, none other than Bryan Termulo. 


So, who's Bryan Termulo?  Well here are some information about him during the Bloggers' Conference and why he was coined as the Prince of Teleserye Theme Songs.

Bryan Termulo or Bryan Bryll Termulo was born in the land of the known poetic people, Bulacan on the 8th day of March 1988.  He was considered as simple and yet promising.  Perhaps that's reason why he is in the entertainment industry now. 

Recording Artist at present and an actor.  His debut album was released under BWB Records and Music Production Inc. and thanks to Bihag and Paano Nangyari in which both songs were played in the TV Series 100 Days To Heaven.   Presently, he is now popularly known as The Prince of Teleserye Theme Songs of ABS-CBN.

Youngest artist to hit the industry.  His one of the regular mainstay of ASAP 2012 and a part of Boys Are Boys together with JM de Guzman, Marrki Stroem and Alex Castro.  He has also been very busy with several TV appearances and magazine interviews, as well as album tours and promotions.  Also he has invaded acting on television some of his acting appearances were in GMA soap All My Life, then he transferred to Kapamilya Network and did some episodes for Wansapanataym, portrayed as Ryan in Budoy, and this year he is set to join The Queen of Teleserye, July Ann Santos-Agoncillo in the upcoming drama series Against All Odds. 

Awards and recognition comes to this young artist since the first time he joined Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 3 in GMA 7.  Then in 2010, he competed for the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) and won two silver medals in rock and original works and one bronze in R&B.   He was also cited by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music in 2012 as one of the nominees for "New Male Recording Artist of the Year."  And the one considered as the icing on the cake was his winning of the 2011 Awit Awards' Best Album Packaging.

For his latest album, the title track Hanggang Ngayon was nominated at Tambayan OPM Music Awards 2012.

Recently, I was invited to cover a press conference of the OPM Icons which will be an upcoming event in SM Mall of Asia.  This concert is a part of the grand launching of this world class concert venue, the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

As we have all known that Lady Gaga was the first one to perform in this great big concert hall and according to SM Management they opened it as a soft launch just to be in time for Lady Gaga's concert.  So, for this particular big event, which is a gathering of renowned Filipino artists themed as "ICONS AT THE ARENA: MASTERS OF OPM", SM management will hold it as the grand launch of the said venue.  This is in support to the greatness and ingenuity of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).

World-class concert artists will take part in the show inlcuding Lea Salonga, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Jose Mari Chan, ZsaZsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Basil Valdez, Freddie Aguilar, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Juris, Jed Madela, Piolo Pascual, Bamboo, Arnel Pineda, and the singing group, The Company.  This event will by hosted by Jim Paredes and Pops Fernandez and will also be graced by comic TV personalities Pokwang, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola.  Staged by ABS-CBN's Star Events.  This event will be on June 16 (Saturday) at 8pm with Johnny Manahan as director and Ryan Cayabyab as musical director.

After the press conference attendees were toured around the SM Mall of Asia Arena to have a look what's inside and what to expect.  This is the first time that I've been to a big concert hall like this.

So, since Lady Gaga had been here we were first brought to the dressing room were she stayed and get dressed, the Star Dressing Room.  I've heard that the said room was painted white due to Lady Gaga's request.  Next was the concert hall of the arena itself.  The area was really huge and I get a chance to seat and imagine the feeling of being there comfortable and watching the concert.  Though there are some part of the arena that are still being done and they wanted to finish it just in time for the OPM Icon's concert.

SM Management's main concept is to have everything in one place that's why they've the mall, the theater, the concert venue, and according to them a 5 star hotel soon all together.

If you were watching ASAP with their Sessionista, I'm sure you've already heard this Acoustic Pop Sessionista named Juris. The singing career of this artist continues to blossom after her latest album “Forevermore” which recently reached the gold record status. Juris is now set to release her second single entitled “Magkaibang Mundo” which was written by the former Sugarfree vocalist Ebe Dancel.

I'm not a very die-hard fan but I enjoyed meeting different celebrities and for me it was a privilege to get invited in press conferences and meet and greet event. I could say that I'm one of those few people who are blessed to have friends and acquaintances who could let me meet different artists.

For this time, though it's my second time, it's Erik Santos with his newest single “Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita”. Erik Santos is coined as the Philippines music's Ultimate Serenader. His newest single comes from his album “Awit Para Sa'yo” which was released by Star Records. It is his latest music compilation with 14 different tracks including nine original and five cover songs, and it is for sure that all are OPM love songs composed by renowned composers in the local music scene.


Track list includes his version of the hit song “Di Lang Ikaw” which was composed by Aiza Seguerra and written and sung by Juris Fernandez, “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” which was composed by Geroge Canseco, “Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka” which comes from Soc Villanueva, “Sa Iyong Paglisan” which was compsed by Arnold Reyes, “If You Have To” composed by Jude Gitamondoc, “Langit” which comes from ultimate singer-songwriter, Mr. Ogie Alcasid, “'Di Na Magbabago” by Christian Martines, “Sana Ikaw” which was an original by Piolo Pascual, composed by Lucien Letaba and Rommel Tuico, “Hanggang Kialan Kita Mamahalin” which was composed by Gary Valenciano and written by Erik Santos, “Paminsan-minsan” compsed by Aaron Paul Del Rosario and hi unique rendition of “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” which was Regine Velasquez original and was composed by Mr. Ogie Alcasid.
