The Press Conference

Recently, I was invited to cover a press conference of the OPM Icons which will be an upcoming event in SM Mall of Asia.  This concert is a part of the grand launching of this world class concert venue, the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

As we have all known that Lady Gaga was the first one to perform in this great big concert hall and according to SM Management they opened it as a soft launch just to be in time for Lady Gaga's concert.  So, for this particular big event, which is a gathering of renowned Filipino artists themed as "ICONS AT THE ARENA: MASTERS OF OPM", SM management will hold it as the grand launch of the said venue.  This is in support to the greatness and ingenuity of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).

World-class concert artists will take part in the show inlcuding Lea Salonga, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Jose Mari Chan, ZsaZsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Basil Valdez, Freddie Aguilar, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Juris, Jed Madela, Piolo Pascual, Bamboo, Arnel Pineda, and the singing group, The Company.  This event will by hosted by Jim Paredes and Pops Fernandez and will also be graced by comic TV personalities Pokwang, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola.  Staged by ABS-CBN's Star Events.  This event will be on June 16 (Saturday) at 8pm with Johnny Manahan as director and Ryan Cayabyab as musical director.

After the press conference attendees were toured around the SM Mall of Asia Arena to have a look what's inside and what to expect.  This is the first time that I've been to a big concert hall like this.

So, since Lady Gaga had been here we were first brought to the dressing room were she stayed and get dressed, the Star Dressing Room.  I've heard that the said room was painted white due to Lady Gaga's request.  Next was the concert hall of the arena itself.  The area was really huge and I get a chance to seat and imagine the feeling of being there comfortable and watching the concert.  Though there are some part of the arena that are still being done and they wanted to finish it just in time for the OPM Icon's concert.

SM Management's main concept is to have everything in one place that's why they've the mall, the theater, the concert venue, and according to them a 5 star hotel soon all together.

So, this coming June 16, 2012 let OPM soar high as the Icons performed in this world class concert hall.
