At first glance, one would think that Helen has no problem. She is always cheerful and funny. But behind her smiles and laughter, she hides her real dilemmas in life.

Her eldest has been bedridden due to Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, and her husband has already given up his goal of working abroad for fear of being away from them. So in order to pay for the lifetime medical care of her eldest son, and to support the education of her other child, Helen has tried various legal rackets, sold everything that could be sold, and searched the whole town just to borrow money.

She was once invited to participate in a beauty contest for mothers, and since then, she has pursued a career in it. But not every contest has been easy, especially when at the same time, she is also questioning her own worth as a wife and as a mother.

Change is the only constant thing in this world. In the past few months there are lots of changes happened in the Showbiz/Entertainment world. One of these changes is the change of network of one of the award-winning actress and comedian Pokwang who just recently signed a contract. Yes, Pokwang is now a certified Kapuso!

It was indeed a momentous event for GMA and for Pokwang. 

Pokwang became very emotional with the warm welcome of some Kapuso artist, like Ai Ai Delas Alas, Rayver Cruz, Camille Prats, and Alden Richards.  

According to Pokwang, she parted ways with her previous network in good terms. Gladly they accept her decision. According to her, she wants to continue her passion as an artist, and very thankful to GMA Network for opening their doors for her to share and show her talents.

Excitedly, Pokwang shared that she wants to work with Kapuso artist, like DongYan (Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, Barbie Forteza, Dennis Trillio, Carla Abellana, Ai Ai Delas Alas, Alden Richards, and Maine Mendoza.

Zanjoe and Pokwang are considered as the king and queen of Skylight Films because of the success of their respective movies in 2013.  Zanjoe starred in the Wenn V. Deramas comedy "Bromance" where he played dual roles of an identical twins with two different genders.  While Pokwang on the other hand made waves in her crazy role in Don Cuaresma's "Call Centr Girl" where she portrayed the role of Teresa – a mother who goes all-out to win back the affections of her estranged daughter.

My Illegal Wife marks another big-screen team-up Zanjoe and Pokwang after Cinco. Directed by blockbuster director Tony Y. Reyes, who was at the helm of hits like Star Cinema's 2012 Enteng Ng Ina Mo, My Illegal Wife is about a loving single mom Clarise (Pokwang) who will do anything and everything to make her family happy even if it means that she does an outrageous feat such as tricking Papa Henry (Zanjou) – a hot stud suffering from amnesia – into believing that he is legally married to her.
My Illegal Wife is not only a laugh-a-minute comedy for the entire family but it is also a heartwarming story that explores the limitless boundaries of true and lasting love. Family rom-com to be screened in 2014 as part of TFC’s 20th anniversary celebration

After winning international critical acclaim for her powerful performance in the drama, “A Mother’s Story”, which garnered 18 FAMAS nominations in 2012, actress-comedienne Pokwang was tapped anew by TFC@theMovies to star in its second film offering, Ms Edsa Woolworth.

According to film director John-D Lazatin, who also received a FAMAS nomination for his direction of “A Mother’s Story,” shooting for the new family romantic comedy film will begin this May in the U.S.

Asked why Pokwang was chosen again to star in TFC’s new movie, Lazatin replied: “Pokwang is one of those rare gifted, versatile actresses who is very relatable. Moviegoers identify or empathize with her characters. Her on- and off-screen personas are also very positive that she’s able to inject humor and lightness even in the face of most dire challenges in life. She projects the character of our overseas Filipinos that TFC serves worldwide.”

While production remains tight-lipped about the exciting film project, Lazatin shared that Ms Edsa Woolworth will have a strong Filipino and American cast. A bit of reveal about the title: Pokwang plays Edsa (short for Epifania de los Santos) whose mother remarried an American named Frank Woolworth. The comedy focuses on the interracial relationships of three adult Filipinos taking care of their white stepfather.
