It's the new world of sound that let's you "hear the whole picture".  For a mom like me who seldom went to cinemas this is really great.

Dolby Atmos is the revolutionary sound technology that is the current world class standard of sound technology, last July 11 this technology was debuted at the Greenhills Cinemas 6, 7 and 8 at the new Promenade at the Greenhills Shopping Center.

Present during the inauguration of the new cinemas and also the celebration of the launch of the Dolby Atmos in the Philippines were Mayor Guia Gomez of the City of San Juan, Senator Loren Legarda, Senator JV Ejercito and Mrs. Marga Ortigas of the Ortigas & Company Limited Partnership who cut the ceremonial ribbon.

One of the highlight of the launch celebration was the unveiling of a large-sized mural fashioned from metal by National Artist for the visual Arts Benedicto Cabrera (Bencab) entitled 8 Movements.  It is Bencab's largest mural so far and his first in metal.

Senator Grace Llamanzares Poe, former MTRCB chairperson and daughter of the King of the Philippine Movies, Fernando Poe, Jr. assisted Bencab during the unveiling.  Commission by Music Museum Group, Inc. and Greenhills Cinemas president Precy M. Florentino, the mural will adorn the lobby of the new cinemas.

According to Ms. Precy Florentino, "the elegant movie theater is a throwback to the old days of cinema when movie theaters had murals and art pieces, and movie goers had a grand feeling when going to the movies.  This is the reason why we brought the finest art in to the theater and why the three new cinemas are fitted with the state of the art Dolby Atmos technology."

As of now, the Greenhills Cinemas is the first ever cinema in the Philippines to show movies in Dolby Atmos.  Paolo Mendoza, Vice PResident of the Music Museum Group, Inc. and General Manager of Greenhills Cinemas commented "the experience is exciting and powerful - something that has never been experienced before in cinema viewing."


It also interesting to note that Dobly Atmos was given the coveted Technical Achievement Award for Post Production by the Cinema Audio Society.   It was great that GrabTechDude.com was also one of the few people who first experienced the extraordinary surround sound of the Dobly Atmos.  Seeing the movie Pacific Rim which is a science fiction monster filled film directed by Benicio del Toro fills the entire cinema with great sound and as if we were part of the movie itself.

It will be fun, fun, fun Fridays all Friday nights of September all the way to November 2011 at Teatrino, Promenade in Greenhills.

Got Fridays @ Teatrino will showcase the latest generation of local singers in a smorgasbord of musical sets, providing nearly three hours of wonderful new sounds and performances from September 2 to November 25, 2011.



Directed and conceptualized by Freddie Santos, one of the most notable stage directors in the country, this innovative musical presentation “brings young, up and coming artists who have already been launched or who have had their first CD albums released up to the next level of their musical careers.”

“All Friday nights at Teatrino from September to November will be nights full of music from new faces singing new faves and redefining fun through a new kind of musical experience,” said Santos. Various young artists are featured each night in sampler style performances to expose their talents to new and wider audiences.

The musical project is a collaboration between Music Museum Group Inc. and various artist management houses. It will feature fresh local artists who already have their rabid fan following and second generation musical talents that are “chips off the old block”.

On tap this September are new artists : Grand Star Dreamer Laarni Lozada, pop classical balladeer Markki Stroem,Fil-Italian heartthrob Kevin Cisco, newest band sensation 3AM, teen acoustic pop duo Krissy and Ericka and the Jammistas – outstanding singer-musicians that Viva Records fused into an even more outstanding musical group (composed of Yssa Alvarez, Sabrina, Davey Langit, Noelle Cassandra and Marvin Ong). Then there are the next-gen singing sensations : Nicole and Carlo David, children of jazz great Mon David; Isabella (Kuh Ledesma’s “little girl”), Robin Nievera, son of concert royalty Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez and Jaco Benin, son of Side A’s Joey Benin, who will perform with Markki Stroem. These young artists headline September Fridays from September 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Many more are on tap for October and November.

Got Fridays @ Teatrino isn’t only unique because of its new show concept, it will also tickle the taste buds with a fun menu available only on Fridays at the Teatrino : casual, funky food (pop corn, onion rings, barbecue and such) to munch on with light drinks at very affordable prices.
