Being thankful for what you have gives you blessings more than what you expect and Congresswoman Florida "Ate Rida" Robes creates a cycle of thankfulness that is why she, her family, and the whole city of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan are being blessed with so many projects for the development of the city. Truly, this proves that her heart is in Public Service, a public servant that works because of the calling.

Just recently we were able to have an interview with the good Congresswoman Robes. Asking for some new developments in the city and what's happening next, as the Holiday Season is just more than a month away. During the interview, she was able to spill some of the details of the development in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. She was able to share what are the upcoming activities of the city, not only for the constituents but also for the visitors and celebrators who appreciated the gesture. Furthermore, she was able to take the opportunity to be thankful to all the people who have supported and provide the aide in constructing some of the buildings that are needed.

Being a public servant is not a luxurious life but it is indeed a gratifying work when you are seeing the people in this sector that are happy and contented with the services that are provided for them. 

Of course, without the supporters and constituents, the progress of SJDM would not be possible. As one of the sayings that go 'the more you plant the more you will sow'. And since the people of SJDM planted a good public servant they are now reaping the benefits that made the city to where it is now.

Congresswoman Robes, through the interview, gave her thanks to many personalities and organizations that have helped in the development of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. Naming them are her husband, Mayor Arthur Robes; their Supporters; President Rodrigo Roa Duterte; Senator Cynthia Villar for sponsoring Saint Bernardette Churros and Maternity Hospital together with Secretary Mark Villar, and Secretary Duque; the Bahay Partylist for the HOA Building; Senator Bato Dela Rosa for the promised Philippine National Building; Senator Nancy Binay and Secretary Mark Villar for the Sports Complex and Convention Center; and Philip "Kuya Ipe" Salvador.

Indeed there are many things to be thankful and that is why Congresswoman Florida Robes is blessed with so many things because she is very much thankful to everyone.

Mayor Arthur Robes is with mixed emotions as receives the award from DILG, the Seal of Good Local Governance. He admits that he is Happy with the award and recognition of what he has done for the City if San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan and at the same time nervous of how they will maintain the recognition.

Mayor Robes representing the City of San Jose Del Monte is one of the recipients that embodies the personality of a public servant.  Continuously serving for the development and progress of the city. Addition to milestones of the city.
The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) refers to "an award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program for all LGUs, and is a continuing commitment for LGUs to continually progress and improve their performance." It was disclosed by Mayor Robes that the award is long over due already because one of the requirements weren't immediately met. But gladly, Mayor Robes together with council and members of the community were able to make some problematic barangays to be drug free.

Mayor Robes welcomes all the awards and recognition as long as it is for the city.

It's the first Monday of November and Mayor Arthur Robes of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan welcomes the day with a mass, good announcements, accomplishments, and birthday celwbrations. Yes, Mayor Robes will be celebrating his birthday November 6 and the best way for him to celebrate it is to announce the accomplishments and the recognitions that he and the city have been receiving. A thrust of a good leader and a Public Servant.




The event happened during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the front of San Jose Del Monte City Hall. It was a day of celebration.

One of the most highlighted news among the accomplishments and awards received by the city of SJDM was the Seal of Good Local Governance which will be awarded tomorrow.

According to Mayor Robes "All the accomplishment and awards that I received is the award of the whole city because of the effort of Bulaqueños to improve/develop and make the city beautiful and tagging the San Jose Del Monte Bulacan as a Rising City and maybe the next highly urbanize in the country".

It's rare for me to be invited by politicians and to have lunch with them. Fortunately, I am grateful to be invited, together with the other bloggers, to have a luncheon event at the house of Mayor Guia Gomez on her Birthday. It was a sumptous lunch and a chika overload with her.

Mayor Guia is the mother of Senator JV Ejercito, the Senate's Mr Healthcare. During our interview with Mayor Guia on the day of her birthday, she talked about her lovelife, showbiz carreer, as well as her college life. Mayor Guia is a very jolly person and no dull moment with her.
She also shared what his son, Senator JV Ejercito's gift for her and she is very grateful for it. Like her, Senator JV also has a big heart for the Filipinos and a truly public servant.

Of course the birthday celebration will not be complete without the star of the day, the food. Finally, I can taste the very famous dish of Mayor Guia, her specialty, the Bacalao! She only cooks the Bacalao once a year and this is my first time to taste it.

The Bacalao really taste good. Indeed, we need more rice to eat with the Bacalao. A very unique dish and can you imagine it’s a fish! Aside from Bacalao, she also prepared some other dishes, the Bulalo, Adobo, Pochero, and the Relyenong Fish. It's truly a “Lutong Bahay” and if you say it lutong bahay it's very tasty and you will eat a lot and we did! A very generous Mayor Guia with a feel at home food!



 
Truly, Mayor Guia supports her son Senator JV Ejercito on his candidacy as re-electionist. Sen JV is the author of the Universal Health Law that will help a lot of Filipinos. For sure Sen JV can do a lot more!

Perhaps I can relate to San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez of her being the mother, not only to her family but to the entire city. Of course the relate part is only being a mother. Motherhood is a profession and it's a full time job that most of the time overtime is not paid but of course it's the love for the family that makes it fullfiling and satisfying.

Thankfully, I was part of the invited bloggers to have a simple chitchat with Mayor Guia Gomez. Yes, I'm very glad to have met her personally, the mother of Senator JV Ejercito. She is the mother who became the mother of the entire city after replacing her son from being Mayor of San Juan City.

Mayor Guia Gomez, before and currently being mayor of the city has been a public servant by heart. Owning perhaps the true title of being the mother of the city.


During the chitchat with her she was able to share bits of her past to us, bloggers. She was once also an actress in her prime days but was cut short because of knowing she wasn't into it very much. She also shared her time being the mother who loves to spend time with her family, children, and grandchildren.

Mayor Guia's time serving the people of San Juan has done a lot of improvements in the city. Some of them are additional housing programs for the less privilege, job generation and skills training, and the sustainable programs that will eventually free the majority of the San Juaneños from poverty.

Mayor Guia's motherly trait perhaps comes from her parents. Being the eldest child of Dr. Dominador Gomez of Silay City and Paz Guanzon of Iloilo City. Of course there's a saying "kung ano ang puno sya ang bunga" and this qualities she have were passed on to her son Senator JV Ejercito who also excelled in his own achievements.
