After a successful digital episodic series six years ago which was originally conceived by Pepsi, the fan-favorite character jumps from the digital world to the big screen in “Uncle Drew.”


The episodic franchise has amassed over 95 million views since inception and now, NBA All-star Kyrie Irving gets to reprise his role as Uncle Drew and his bringing his friends with him and some more. After draining his life savings to enter a team in the Rucker Classic street ball tournament in Harlem, Dax (Lil Rel Howery) is dealt a series of unfortunate setbacks, including losing his team to his longtime rival (Nick Kroll). Desperate to win the tournament and the cash prize, Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend UNCLE DREW (NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving) and convinces him to return to the court one more time. The two men embark on a road trip to round up Drew's old basketball squad (Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie) and prove that a group of septuagenarians can still win the big one. The film is rated G by the MTRCB which means all ages can enter the cinema with or without an adult.
The film, aside from showcasing basketball, also tackles themes such as family, friendship and teamwork. “Uncle Drew” opens in Philippine cinemas June 27, 2018 from Lionsgate Pictures, locally distributed by Rafaella Films International.

“The seed of the film was planted with a simple thought – it would be fun to see actor Don Lee (Ma Don-Seok) arm wrestle,” said Champion director Kim Yong-wan. He did showcase his strength in his previous films like The Outlaws and the worldwide hit Train to Busan but Don Lee won’t be just flexing his muscles in the sports comedy film, he will also work his charms to the audience through the story.

For Mark (Don Lee), arm wrestling is the only thing he has. A Korean adoptee who is able to lift ginormous dumbbells with extreme ease. Thanks to his impressive strength, he competed as an arm wrestler at a national level in the USA, but was kicked out of the league because of an issue. He now works as club bouncer, and a grocery store security, until a friend calls him with an opportunity to get his life back. This also meant going back to his country Korea. Little did he know, he’s not only getting his arm wrestling life back, but he also gets to meet his sister and her family. With their support, he challenges himself to become a champion.

From Train to Busan, The Outlaws, Veteran, Familyhood and the upcoming sequel to Along with the Gods, actor Don Lee (Ma Dong-Seok) always emobodied his characters with creative twists that only he’s able to pull off. In Champion, he has transformed into Mark, an arm wrestler whose forearm reacts faster than his heart and aims to surprise his fans once again.
Mark’s partner-in-crime Jin-ki is played by Kwon Yul, who started in Roaring Currents, The Hunt and The Worst Woman. Mark’s sister Su-jin, who has to juggle between running her business and taking care of her kids, is played by The Hunt and Worst Woman star HAN Ye-ri. The film is directed by Kim Yong-wan who began his career in the industry as an assistant director on several notable films such as Harmony (2009) and Quick (2011) which also had a Philippine release.

The film tells the story of Mark (Ma Dong-Seok), a disgraced arm-wrestling champion who was adopted by an American family when he was a boy. He’s working as a bouncer at a club when he meets Jin-ki, a Korean student who has a knack for schemes to make money from any situation he’s in. Jin-ki convinced Mark to return to Korea after 30 years to join an arm-wrestling tournament. Upon arriving, Jin-ki gives him his biological mother’s address. Hesitant at first, he visits the address and gets united with a sister he didn’t know existed. Max, while embracing the new family he has, prepares to make a mark in the arm wrestling tournament. Who does not have an eventful childhood? Most of our memories from our youth are spent in school. Co Gai Den Tu Hom Qua or The Girl from Yesterday has been acquired by Rafaella Films International for Philippine release. The hit romance movie earned 5 billion Vietnamese Dong (Php112,156,000) in just 10 days since it was released in Vietnam, one of the biggest releases in 2017.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Nguyen Nhat Anh, a best-selling author in Ho Chi Minh City. The book was published in 1990 and has sold more than 200,000 copies. It is used to teach Vietnamese at Moscow State University since 2012.

The film tells the story of Thu, a teenage boy who causes problems on a daily basis. One day, everything changed when he falls in love with a transfer student named Viet An. But every moments with her keep reminding him of his memories with his first love, Tieu Li.

Joko Anwar, the multi-awarded director from Indonesia is back with another critically acclaimed horrifying film “Pegabdi Setan,” “Satan’s Slaves” in English.
The film tells the story of a family of four who must take evil head-on after their mother dies. Featuring plenty of scares and a shocking plot twist, the film is set in 1981, one year before the classic horror movie was set.

This is the most successful horror film in Indonesia of all time. It managed to attract almost 3.9 million viewers in a month. As of now, it is the 2nd highest grossing picture of the year in Indonesia with more than 4,000,000 audience.

Shot only in 18 days in mostly chronological order. The longest part of the production was finding the right house with the perfect atmosphere and tone. Approximately 3 months were spent on finding it.

The film reunites director Joko Anwar with two of his muses which are Tara Basro, whom he had worked with in A Copy of Mind (2015), and Asmara Abigail, whom he had worked with in his short film Jenny.

Experience horror like never before in “Satan’s Slaves.” In Philippine cinemas November 29 from Rapi Films and CJ Entertainment, to be locally distributed by Rafaella Films International and Axinite Digicinema, Inc.

“We want to tell a story about five people from different backgrounds, from different places that comes in to tell the story of their survival,” says 9/11 star Olga Fonda. She plays Tina, one of the five who is trapped inside the elevator of the World Trade Center during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Numerous books, documentaries, and other forms of media have already been created in an attempt to help us come to terms with the events that transpired on 9/11. How could this film be different? To answer that question, the filmmakers decided to tell the story from the inside, a point-of-view not often presented in relation to this tragedy. Much of the imagery of that day was captured externally, such as the sight of the World Trade Center being hit and ultimately, crumbling.

In contrast, 9/11 comprises an interior story, in every sense of the word. The setting being an elevator in the North Tower of the World Trade Center; the characters are five individuals who randomly board and thus witness their fates intertwine in a way none could have anticipated. The film provides an intimate portrait of individuals who are forced by circumstance to attempt to survive America’s greatest tragedy. Although less seen than the stories chronicled from the outside, the interlocking stories inside the elevator are no less real or dramatic. They are stories rooted in the reality of what some people endured that day.

Director and co-writer Martin Guigui, came by the story through actor-producer Deacon Drawdy, who had optioned the stage play, Elevator. Initially, Guigui had some doubts and questioned why make this into a film now? Ultimately though, “[I] couldn’t get the story out of my head. I saw it as an opportunity to explore not just the issues around this horrific event, but to plunge into the humanity that arises out of the circumstance,” Guigui recalls.

“It’s a story about heroes, it’s a story about really honouring those that sacrificed everything and those that didn’t make it, and those that did,” says Charlie Sheen who plays Jeffrey Cage.

“This is one that really focuses on what happened, a more internal scope,” he continues.
Clearly, “9/11” movie is a more internal perspective of what happened during the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. And we get to experience what was it like stuck in that elevator. Every minute matters and we must not lose hope to have the will to survive.

“9/11” movie opens in Philippine cinemas September 13, distributed by Rafaella Films International.

After the global success of his first live-action film “Train to Busan,” writer and director Yeon Sang-Ho is already in development of his follow-up film.

Dubbed as a superhero comedy movie, “Psychokinesis” is about an ordinary man who accidentally obtains superpowers and uses them to help his daughter and the people around them.

The filming has wrapped up last August 6, 2017 in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea. It took about four months to film the said film that started April 17, 2017.

The film stars A-list Korean actors including Ryu Seung-ryong (“Miracle in Cell No. 7”) and Shim Eun-kyung (“Miss Granny”), who were the voice acting leads from Yeon Sang-Ho’s previous animated film “Seoul Station.” The film also stars Park Jung-min (“Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet”) and “Train to Busan” star Jung Yu-mi.

“Psychokinesis” is slated to open in Philippine cinemas in 2018, to be distributed by Rafaella Films International.

September 11 or 9/11 is a date that has become a reference point in American history. It is a moment by which our lives are divided into “before” and “after.” What we experienced and shared as a people on that fateful day has no equal in our past.
Based on true events, 9/11 tells the story of five (5) people trapped in an elevator in the World Trade Center. As the sun rises in the New York City on the morning of September 11, 2001, the day seems no different.
In the World Trade Center (WTC), a billionaire sits in his attorney’s office awaiting a divorce hearing against his wife. In a west side apartment, a bike messenger kisses a 5-year old daughter and sings her “Happy Birthday” before leaving for work. A maintenance man gets dispatched to help a WTC tenant with his lock. In an Upper East Side apartment, a young model musters the courage to break up with her sugar daddy. As random as random can be, these individuals step into a crowded WTC elevator.
Wrapped up in their own world, they all ride silently hearing only the sound of the elevator giving notice of each floor. When the elevator stops on the 34th floor, it empties leaving only these five behind. Moments later…. their world changes as the collision of a jet into the North Tower incapacitates the elevator.

During these critical minutes, a story of courage, faith and the will to live unfolds.
