Johnny Rockets invited me and my son for their bloggers' event which was held in Eastwood.  Though it was quite far from our home but still we manage to go there since it's a bonding moment for me and for my eldest son, Maki.  Too bad that Daddy and Gelo wasn't with us to make this event another family bonding but anyway it's a Mom and Son bonding moment this time.
Johnny Rockets offers a dining experience from a typical American-style diners, it is an international restaurant chain that provides food, fun and friendliness reminiscent of feel-good Americana. Both the exterior and interior are quintessentially American. The fixtures, the decor, the tiled floor all memorialize the era of feel good American with some Coca Cola memento of various kind. The jukebox near the entrance is a classic.  I only saw this kind of diner on movies but thanks to Johnny Rockets I was able to see personally.
Maki was delighted when they welcomed us with their summer shakes sampler which made us taste it first before going into further explanation and details on what the shakes are made of.  For my son, Maki, he loves the taste of the purple colored shake.  

Aside from the sampler they also served their Original Burger which comes with fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, chopped onions, relish, pickle, mustard & mayonnaise with free fries.  Well, for me the burger is just enough because it is really one of the big servings that we've encountered.  If you're not much of big serving, Johnny Rockets is not for you but if you're in for a really big surprises and treats then you can immediately head on to one of their stores to get a burger, fries and shakes.  Loved it!

As a mommy, I always see to it that all the things needed when traveling are ready and easy to get.  You'll never know when and where you will need it.  The more accessible it is the better.  With kids you really need to be ready anytime and any where, just like a girl scout, "laging handa" (always ready).  Baby bags should always have the following, clothes, water, milk, tissues and of course wipes when they get dirty or you know what I mean.  Baby Wipes are handy and very helpful for me in cleaning my babies.

Another indie film that hits the mainstream, Bwakaw is a critically-acclaimed first independent film by Jun Robles Lana. The film recently won the Best Actor Award (Eddie Garcia), Audience Choice Award, and the Netpac Awards in the Director’s Showcase Category in the 8th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Bwakaw is a movie that I’ve thought of about greediness but I was intrigue and curious because the film is a drama-comedy. It tells a story of an old man named Rene who looks forward of his death. He thinks that it is too late for him to feel love and all that is to look forward to is death. Rene has a dog named Bwakaw, who follows him wherever he goes. Bwakaw is Filipino slang for greed.

For an average viewer who’s not well aware of the present issues in the society, this movie will be just another sad and funny movie to watch and enjoy but for those who truly knows what is happening this could be an eye-opener and a lesson as well.

I would rate this movie a well rounded good for story and great for their acting.

Aside from Garcia and Princess, the dog, “Bwakaw” also stars Rez Cortez, Gardo Versoza, Bibeth Orteza, Soxie Topacio, Allan Paule, Joey Paras, Beverly Salviejo, Soliman Cruz, Bibeth Orteza, Luz Valdez, Jonathan Neri, May-I Fabros, and Ms. Armida Siguion-Reyna. “Bwakaw” hits cinemas nationwide on September 5, 2012.
