But even after three decades, a young man’s thirst for adventure, the need to belong while staying true to himself, the struggle to keep it all together in the face of academic stress, love problems and family issues, and the thrill of going through it all with real friends – themes like these still make for a relevant movie, and Viva Films knows just how to deliver it in this millennial generation. Hence comes “Squad Goals”, directed by multi-awarded filmmaker Mark Meily.

In this dramedy, Julian Trono, Vitto Marquez, Andrew Muhlach, Dan Huschka, and Jack Reid portray the roles of college students who find camaraderie amidst a series of mishaps that could expel them from school.





















Prince of the Dance Floor and the other half of the love team JulianElla, Julian Trono (Fangirl, Fanboy) is Benj, an Engineering student who is a secret dance guru called “Young D”. He wears a mask in his dance videos on YouTube to keep his father from finding out about it. He took up Engineering to be able to help out in their family’s failing business.


Vitto Marquez is Tom an HRM student and a varsity team captain who also happens to be a three-time MVP. He is too hung up on his girlfriend who is so concerned about her image. It mirrors the relationship of his parents as his father is a retired basketball player while his mother is an actress. In real life, Vitto is the son of Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno.
Filipino-German Dan Huschka plays Hans, a shy-type music genius who keeps getting gigs as a DJ. In the process, his studies are taken for granted. He tries not to be too attached to his friends because he and his mom will go to Germany anytime to see his father. The thought of leaving becomes more upsetting when he met a girl who shares his musical interest.

Andrew Muhlach plays Nat, the class clown and best friend of Tom. His father works as a driver, while his mother is into a networking business. Quick though he is in coming up with pranks, he is very slow in expressing his feelings for the girl he likes. In real life, Andrew is the brother of the original “Bagets” superstar, Aga Muhlach.


Jack Reid plays Pads, a Mass Comm student who works part time as a bartender. This makes him drowse off during class. Born and raised in Australia, he is not fluent in Tagalog. He is tutored by a girl who seems to be the only one not affected by his charisma. With this film, Jack hopes to be recognized for his own capabilities, and not just for being the youngest brother of James Reid.

Internet experience at par with the world

To provide customers with a better video and mobile internet experience, Smart is accelerating the deployment of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) and carrier aggregation technology to more areas this year. Carrier Aggregation (CA), a feature of LTE-A, enables the combination of two or more radio frequency bands in order to deliver bigger bandwidth and much faster data speeds, which are crucial in providing the best video streaming experience to mobile phone users.

Smart has already rolled-out 3CC CA sites in cities across Metro Manila, as well as in major cities in other regions of the country, including Baguio, Calamba, Iloilo, Bacolod, Tagbilaran, Ormoc, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, Zamboanga, among others. In Metro Manila and areas where there is a concentration of capable devices, Smart is also deploying 4CC, starting with Marikina and Quezon City, where customers with 4CC CA-capable devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8 have reported enjoying data download speeds of over 200 Mbps.

Smart’s accelerated deployment of LTE-Advanced follows the stepped up roll out of its LTE network. It is also upping the ante by deploying another LTE-A based technology called 4x4 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), which raises the radio frequency efficiency by using multiple antennas for sending and receiving data.

Parent company PLDT has committed historic levels of resources to support network transformation. Capital expenditures reached P40 billion in 2017, of which about 67% was allotted for the mobile network. For 2018, PLDT capex is expected to reach P58 billion, which includes allocations for the aggressive roll-out of its fiber broadband service, which also supports the stepped-up deployment of the mobile network by providing high-capacity links for cellular base stations.

A Pinoy Boyband Superstar finalist is ready to make his mark into the OPM scene with the release of his debut single 'Langit Pag Nandiyan'.

23-year-old singer-songwriter Mark Oblea was first discovered in the hit reality singing competition Pinoy Band Superstar (the show originally aired in 2016), in which he made it as one of the Top 7 finalists.

Though he did not win the competition, Mark, with his penchant for writing his own songs and playing guitar, still decided to pursue his music career.

Having signed a recording deal with Universal Records in December 2017, Mark is now set to release his first single entitled 'Langit Pag Nandiyan.' The song was written by Gracenote lead vocalist Eunice Jorge, and produced by hit-making producer Ito Rapadas. Talking about the meaning behind the song, Mark says "The song is about honoring someone [special in your life]. It can be a song for a friend, a loved one, a relative, or [anyone who's always there to support you despite different setbacks and challenges.] At the same time, it is also a personal anthem for all the people who've been a part of my journey to pursue my dreams"

With his rugged good looks, charm, and musical talent, Mark is bound to win the hearts of many fans worldwide.

Mark is also slated to sing the theme song ‘Fiona’ for an upcoming indie film “Bakwit Boys,” produced by T-Rex Productions. Next on his list is his debut EP, which feature songs written by Mark himself.

The Cure’s premise is set on an experimental drug that kills cancer cells. However, its side effect causes a deeper problem—the mutation of a dangerous and highly contagious virus called the Monkey Virus Disease or MVD wherein anyone infected begins to have seizures and becomes rabid and violent. Soon, law and order is non-existent as the disease spreads not only in the city, but also throughout the entire country. Now more than ever, it is crucial to find the very thing that would save everyone—a cure.

The series is under the helm of esteemed director Mark A. Reyes who is excited for the viewers to witness a new genre in primetime. “It’s very exciting, a story of survival—survival of humans, survival of family, survival of two people in love, it’s a bigger picture. Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and her son Nate Alcasid sing the song “I Can” together as they are welcomed on stage.

With an illustrious entertainment career spanning three decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has done almost everything, including chart-topping singles and albums, blockbuster movies, high-rated TV shows, and sold-out concerts. But for the Asia’s Songbird—one of the very few who’s successfully juggled being a singer, actress, record producer, and TV host—there’s one role she loves best: being a mom to her six-year-old son Nate.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid talks about how honored and excited she and Nate is to be part of the Jollibee family.

Regine and Nate—who love to spend time just talking to one another about anything and everything under the sun—are the newest members of the Jollibee family and the stars of the latest heartwarming Jolly Spaghetti TV ad.

In the commercial, Regine revisits a familiar scene—a full concert auditorium with thousands of adoring fans—with a sweet-sarap surprise backstage for Nate. The ad goes on to show us special everyday moments between mother and son, with Regine narrating how being a mom has shed new light on day-to-day situations.
This is not the first time Regine and Nate worked on an endorsement together, but she believes that this one with Jollibee is the most special. “The storyboard is so touching and very personal. It shows my different roles as Regine, but it also shows that my greatest one is being a mom, which is the most difficult yet most fulfilling role I have to play,” Regine shared.

Just like real life

Upon first review of the storyboard, Regine said: “Umiyak talaga ako. I said, “pinag-isipan talaga nila.” I’ve never done anything like this, a commercial that celebrates my being a career woman and a mom.”

Asia’s Songbird also shared that this Jollibee ad is inspired by her real life and her thoughts about being a mom. “In the ad, there’s a line where I say “sa lahat ng kinantahan ko, ikaw lang ‘ang nakatulog.” That’s true talaga! He really sleeps whenever I sing to him. It’s like they captured our real lives!” she said.

Another scene in the commercial that made Regine emotional is when she sings the lines “Pangako magmula ngayon, tayong dalawa ang magkasama,” which is lifted from one of her platinum hits “Pangako.” This song holds special meaning to the songstress as it was composed by her husband Ogie Alcasid.

Sweet-Sarap bonding moments

Since she gave birth to Nate in 2011, Regine has slowed down her professional life to spend more time with her son. The first seven years are the most crucial to a child’s development, as studies show, and the Songbird is determined to make the most of it.

One of their favorite bonding activities is to talk to each other before bed. “He always has a lot of kwento for me at night,” Regine said. “He would always say, “Mommy, last kwento,” but this last story would go on for 20 minutes! But honestly, that’s the highlight of my day. He really loves talking.”

“We also play with toys but they’re not really toys,” Nate shared. “It’s called amenities!”
“He loves hotel supplies like toothbrushes,” Regine explains. “So one time when I was traveling, I brought everything back home to him. He was so happy, akala mo binigyan ko ng special gift. To him, it was really special because he knows I remembered him. I then realized, you can buy your child all the toys you can think of, but what they really want is more time with you.”

Regine’s realization is not lost on Nate, who—despite his parents’ celebrity status—prefers simple bonding activities like going on picnics and playing with Regine and Ogie.
