Glad that I was present when this event happens because there were plenty of surprises and prizes that I have taken away home and of course I did have a great time watching the program prepared SM MEGAMALL.  Also I did enjoy watching those iButterfly fly around on android operated gadgets.   It was a blast of fun playing and butterfly catching activity.

As an advocacy event of MYLE and Lingap Pangkabataan, it aims to:

• To raise child rights advocacy spirit among its partner communities- academe, young people, adult, social development, churches, parents in a creative and fun event.
• To encourage greater public awareness and social investment on children- where every child could fully develop and participate in putting place an environment that respect and celebrate their full potential. There will be:

1. 3K, 5K, and 10K running, jogging and walking around the university oval
2. Advocacy presentations from Lingap children’s advocacy groups, Ateneo- Performing Arts groups and other partners
3. Running Pack – singlet, number and other freebies
4. Child rights advocacy booths and food stalls

THE ORGANIZERS

The Movement for the Youth’s Legal Education (MYLE) is an organization in the UP College of Law that seeks to provide legal education primarily for children, and secondarily for the children’s families and their educators towards a holistic formation of the Filipino youth. It aims to provide awareness to children of their basic rights through classroom activities, lectures and workshops. MYLE also seeks to serve as a venue for students of the law to engage in a pro-active approach to learning laws pertaining to children’s rights.

Lingap Pangkabataan Inc. is one of the social development organizations in the Philippines whose primary mission is to lead in child- advocacy efforts. The Press Conference

Recently, I was invited to cover a press conference of the OPM Icons which will be an upcoming event in SM Mall of Asia.  This concert is a part of the grand launching of this world class concert venue, the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

As we have all known that Lady Gaga was the first one to perform in this great big concert hall and according to SM Management they opened it as a soft launch just to be in time for Lady Gaga's concert.  So, for this particular big event, which is a gathering of renowned Filipino artists themed as "ICONS AT THE ARENA: MASTERS OF OPM", SM management will hold it as the grand launch of the said venue.  This is in support to the greatness and ingenuity of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).

World-class concert artists will take part in the show inlcuding Lea Salonga, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Jose Mari Chan, ZsaZsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Basil Valdez, Freddie Aguilar, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Juris, Jed Madela, Piolo Pascual, Bamboo, Arnel Pineda, and the singing group, The Company.  This event will by hosted by Jim Paredes and Pops Fernandez and will also be graced by comic TV personalities Pokwang, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola.  Staged by ABS-CBN's Star Events.  This event will be on June 16 (Saturday) at 8pm with Johnny Manahan as director and Ryan Cayabyab as musical director.

After the press conference attendees were toured around the SM Mall of Asia Arena to have a look what's inside and what to expect.  This is the first time that I've been to a big concert hall like this.

So, since Lady Gaga had been here we were first brought to the dressing room were she stayed and get dressed, the Star Dressing Room.  I've heard that the said room was painted white due to Lady Gaga's request.  Next was the concert hall of the arena itself.  The area was really huge and I get a chance to seat and imagine the feeling of being there comfortable and watching the concert.  Though there are some part of the arena that are still being done and they wanted to finish it just in time for the OPM Icon's concert.

Plans are made to be broken!  Hmmm... sounds like a famous quote.  Yes it is but I change it a bit.

So, what does it mean?  Well, before May 11, 2012, we have created lots of plans and assured that it will go that way.  We've finalized it that we are going to have 2 celebrations for our dearest youngest son, Gelo.  We have agreed to have May 11 as the date of his Christening and May 12 as the celebration of his Birthday.


Well, in the end, we celebrated it just once.  Hahaha, funny it is because we changed the plan few days before the day of the event.  We just have the Christening in the morning and then the reception and birthday celebration afterwards at KFC Tandang Sora.  It is just a simple celebration for our son, Gelo and for our visitors.   Then with the help of Dicky, my sister-in-law's husband made the celebration fun by being the emcee.  We just made a few games for the kids and for the adults as well.  And that's how the celebration made and ended.


I just want to thank all our visitors, the Godfather and Godmother who attended and our dear Pastor Bong Mangubat, my family and relatives, my in-laws. Thank you for being with us during the simple celebration.


Thank God for the day and for everybody because Gelo and Maki enjoyed the Party.
